groovystix 0 Posted December 25, 2017 I picked this up at a sale barn over the weekend...I just thought it was cool and funky. I paid $100 I hope I didn't pay too much. I was just DRAWN to the watch. I couldn't leave there without it. LoL From what I have gathered...its from the 70s And the sweep is SO smooth! But unfortunately its not keeping time. The second hand moves but the minute and hours do not. I may have to send it off for servicing. Not very much info on it on the web. I really dont even know how to set it. Any info from you guys would very much be appreciated. On to the pics: Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Share this post Link to post

unreformed66 0 Posted December 25, 2017 (edited) Most of those are A. Schild movements. I think the caliber was 1920 or something like that, I'm too lazy to look it up right now..lol. The weak point of the design in the A. Schild automatics is the tiny offset cannon pinion. I'd bet a cheap rep that the cannon pinion is your problem. I've worked on tons of A. Schild movements through the years and know my way around them. The cannon pinions are so tiny that they're difficult to tighten but it can be done. And if yours is too far gone they're still available from a few sources that I know unless they've run out of stock since I last ordered one. I want to learn, and get into the hobby myself. I wish I knew what was wrong so I could fix it. But I probably would make it SO much more worse. LoL Thank you for the reply.Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Share this post Link to post

I got the case back off very carefully making sure not to force anything and took some pictures if this watch is 40+ years old it looks immaculate inside....Sent from my SM-G955U using TapatalkI got the case back off very carefully making sure not to force anything and took some pictures if this watch is 40+ years old it looks immaculate inside....Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Case back inscription with something scraled in it?Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Share this post Link to post
