GC 4,492 Posted January 9, 2018 I love vintage and modern alike... Top row vintage: 1655, 1680, 6538, 16710, 6241 Bottom row modern: 16600, 16610LV, 114060, 116719, 116500 What I particularly like is the vintage/modern counterparts, all but the 1655 & 16600. I also added up the total cost of all the watches and mods done to a few... total investment $2660.00 I figure, for the price of one mid range Gen I’ve got a box full of great looking timepieces and endless hours of enjoyment wearing them. In my book, I win. Thanks for for letting me share GC

Any plans for 2018? Absolutely no plans for 2018... I have covered all my favorites old and new. I got stuck for a while trying to find/mod a 1675 to my liking (read : driving @NCRich crazy with requests), but I fixed that problem with my last purchase of the 16710. There is a Ploprof in need of a gen Omegs box. If I stumble upon one for a fair price, that will be the only addition to the collection.

I'm beginning to think 8 years will not be enough... Let me be very clear, a LOT of watches have come and gone. And in truth, if my stolen Gen 14060 (got it for my 18th birthday) ever made its way back to me, I would sell all of these off... because in truth, a man only ever needs ONE watch. Till that day, these ten will suffice. Bon chance with the collection!

I may be able to help with the celebratory downsizing Enjoy the substitutes in the meantime
Glaude 1,615 Posted January 11, 2018 Great collection GC ! But it's not quite clear to me, do you like Rolex ? (In more seriousness, do you ONLY like Rolex ?)

Ok, I’ve thought about it and the only answer I can give you is this... I love all types of watches, bar none, but apparently all I wear is Rolex. Why? I have no idea. Maybe I'm a boring person, I wouldn’t argue that. Maybe because when I was a kid in New Jersey only Lawyers, Doctors and Mobsters wore Rolex. I’m from a working class family, Pizzeria & Restaurant, and wearing a Rolex meant you made it out of being “working class”... that’s the best I got.

Ok so an easier one : what brand/specific model of watch you don't like ?

My taste is towards the dress watch, but to keep your collection fairly homogeneous what do you think of something from the Master Compressor series from JLC ?
