Balad1 0 Posted April 10, 2011 In response to a question by my Bro mikencnair regarding just how large a 50mm U-Boat wears, I've taken these quick photos. In the past I was hot for the U-Boat and only after discovering my 7.5" wrist won't support the larger version did I give it up. I am no expert on these watches but have done some research in the past. Anyone with better or more current knowledge please feel free to share. Breitling Seawolf Avenger 45mm....................... U-Boat/Parnis 50mm............................... Rolex DSSD 43mm.......................... U-Boat Quartz, 44mm *this photo best shows just how large this watch wears. As shown in the above photos the 50mm U-Boat / Parnis is one LARGE watch and it takes more than an average wrist to pull it off. It's not just the 50mm width it's the 18-19mm depth that is BIG. These photos don't do justice to just how LARGE it wears....but I do love the design. PS: No, I don't wear it, lol
powderfreak 0 Posted April 10, 2011 LOL; and I am thinking the DSSD is too fat for my wrist...
Stormcrow 0 Posted April 10, 2011 This is a very good refrence thread for n00bs (like myself) who initially want to see the difference between different case diameters. Nice watches too LOL; and I am thinking the DSSD is too fat for my wrist... Snap!
Luthier 1 Posted April 10, 2011 SeaWolf is, actually, 45,4mm.
Balad1 0 Posted April 10, 2011 SeaWolf is, actually, 45,4mm. Thanks, Luthier, you are correct, I'll change it to 45mm. Also adding some side wrist shots to better show the depth.

Balad1 0 Posted April 11, 2011 From what I've noticed the U-Boat reps in the 43-47mm range are a scattered lot, not sure about homage in that size. If I remember correctly most (or all) sub 50mm reps are quartz. The new KeNnY might know as he's the one that was well informed on them.
Member X 91 Posted April 11, 2011 These cases do wear big, I was kindly bequethed one and it's massive! They wear about as big as the other, square shape 50mm UBoats - i.e. you won't get them under dress shirt sleeves... lol

Balad1 0 Posted April 11, 2011 LOL That is one of the reasons I posted this thread. I don't want other new members saying "Holy Shit" like I did, when they open the package with their new 50mm U-Boat or Parnis.

I've got one on the way from Robert, I'll post pics when I get it. I have large wrists though so I'm hoping it looks good!
Rav747 0 Posted April 12, 2011 I don't have a huge wrist to pull this off. But I will be seriously considering the 44mm version with cream dial and black numbers and dark red/brown strap. I saw that on the website and loves the combo. Do they make gens that small or is it a fantasy watch? Thanks for the pics, Ted. I was going to give the 50mm a shot. But now, its a def a negative
