Milgauss on a Nato

Recommended Posts

roberto

Okay, so I'm probably committing some kind of 'faux-pas' here but here goes.

I bought a Milgauss from Robert a while back and part of the strap closure was knackered. It was a cheapie, and thems the breaks, so it sat unloved (I actually kept it in a glass with all of my watch screwdrivers and sort of forgot I had it). Anyway, I found it last week and thought I'd have a dabble with something different. So, I found a cheapie strap from Amazon and hey presto, got meself a little Nato thingamybob.

Don't shoot me, I'm only a poor misguided semi noob.

I like it. I only think it works though due to it being PVD. I messed about with straps and tried a DSSD on leather. What a mistake-a to make-a - looked bad. Made me love it even more on the steel though.

Quite different from what you usually see on nato-straps, so I think it's fine.

Don't shoot me too, I'm only misguided "professional".

But here's my humble opinion.

1. I don't like Milgauss in general - no date, and that ugly seconds hand...

2. I don't like PVD too, it's plain ugly, and look like a painted with Home Depot paint. And I don't think there's a PVD gen. exist.

3. I don't like NATO straps too, it looks like a piece of rag, and a piece of jewelry on the rag??? Thanks, but NO, thanks.

But again... it's me.

You like it - enjoy!!!

I like it - think it would look even better with a black & green NATO (colour co-ordination).

Luthier - diff'rent strokes etc - the only thing I really like about the Milgauss is the second-hand !!!

It looks pretty good.

I like the seconds hand on the Milgauss, the history behind it and all. Thats why it's such a nice watch. I think it's it's either love or hate - nothing in between.

A black NATO would look better. Mind you, I have that NATO on my DSSD and I think it works...

DSSD on black NATO:

On blue strips NATO which is what I've switched too now:

Thanks for the thoughts folks, appreciated.. :beer2:

(Luthier, no Christmas card for you :) )

I have to confess that I actually thought the strap was green and black when I bought it, so I was kind of disappointed at first, but now I like it. Strange one, me I guess.

Luto.. that looks cool, am I right in saying that's a blue tint on the logo/dial writing there to go with the strap? Oooh, sharp :D
