Joyjoyk 0 Posted February 9, 2018 First time making a post like this. I had troubles finding a good review/ post of the ARF 36mm blue DJ before buying, but was really interested in owning the gen someday so I thought I'd just buy it and check it out. Hopefully this will be useful to someone else in the future. First impressions: Wow The bracelet just feels so nice, compared to the v5 noob subC that I have. Would be on par with my Gen Speedmaster I say, couldn't tell much of a difference compared to a Gen GMTII which a family member has. The dial is stunning, although not dark enough? Especially in day lighting. Have not seen the Gen out in bright sunlight before so its hard to say. The rehaut is just oh so crisp, and I know people have been complaining of the fat font on the datewheel but to me it's not that bad... I guess the easiest possible tell is that the odd numbers aren't red as supposedly these models come with the roulette datewheel, although if my reading serves me right, Rolex does offer non roulette datewheels if asked for. Timekeeping is excellent, havent officially timed it but it seems to be spot on. Power reserve was about 26 hours, that was after wearing it on the wrist for 3 hours. Will wear it for longer to see if it improves. The movement apparently is a SH3135 although the TDs website I got this off says its the SA3135. Manually winding the movement, it feels quite gritty, with a bit of resistance, more than the noob v5 SubC with 2836. Setting the date is smooooth, but when setting the time, it is also slightly gritty, a lot less than when winding the movement. Not sure if I should service it since it is working well in terms of timekeeping and PR is decent at this stage.. also dont know of anyone who can do it
Dawg 24 Posted February 11, 2018 Nice .....think I have to get one of these after the CNY

Hinclimincli 17 Posted February 11, 2018 Hmmm... Must say that fluted bezel looks awesome. Same goes for the SEL fitment, a bit recessed, not flush at all, really like it! It's a shame that it comes with a 3135 clone, I'd be very inclined to get myself one if it came with an ETA clone.
jakeg05 0 Posted February 12, 2018 Just ordered one off trusty time after seeing this, will try and buy gen parts and build a franken, if the fit
nivka 5 Posted February 12, 2018 I’ve got the exact same watch and had the same thoughts about the blue dial: it looks fantastic in photos, but too pale in person
peterpl 0 Posted February 12, 2018 Are you able to post a side by side pic of the ARF 36mm and the Sub C? I want to see the difference in size between the 36mm and 40mm. Not sure how the 36mm will fit my wrist. Hoping it wears slightly larger.
Raphaeeel 0 Posted February 12, 2018 Not the Sub C but 16610LN

Only reason I could buy it was cuz it's a "excuse'' to buy more ahaha.. It wears alright. I can wear both comfortably.. my wrists are small, havent formally measured them but most likely 6-6.5.. My panerai 512 on the other hand.. looks too large on me haha
revstriker 0 Posted February 28, 2018 I have the non fluted one on order with puretime, can't wait to get it. We have similar tastes, 5007 and this one. lol. Also picked up a JF grey OP with prof crystal via m2m on repgeek yesterday.
Stufuse 73 Posted February 28, 2018 I have to say that the date don’t doesn’t look as bold now? Unless it’s me.... I thought it was pretty bad on mine, I changed it for a gen roulette and the difference in font was very clear. Can you take a picture of your stock date at 18 like mine to compare? It’s a lovely Watch isn’t it! I’ve had gen in hand and they feel the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Stufuse 73 Posted March 10, 2018 Is your dw a gen? Looks like this batch has thinner dws... im assuming youve got red font for your odd numbered days as well?Yea mines gen with red odds. They have definitely improved the font thickness, yours looks almost as good as mine, just the numbers very slight diff shape but wouldn’t be noticeable. The giveaway with this and the white dial would be the odds being black too.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
