That's such a crazy achievement. But I would probably just get it as a curiousity rather than something to wear even if China had managed to rep it.

Impressive isn't it. But as you suggest, not the most functional of watches. Not even Piaget sell it, it's purely a concept (for now). Very clever though.

Definitely some revolutionary ideas like using the caseback as the baseplate of the movement. How do you take off the caseback in that watch though, the stem is still attached to it (or maybe it's a front loaded mechanism with the stem release screw in front)? That's another thing to consider when making such designs.

It was certainly revolutionary thinking 30 years ago by Swatch who basically did the same thing with their plastic quartz watches. And then again with their system 51, which also utilizes the case as part of the movement plate.
