Tobz 0 Posted February 13, 2018 (edited) Hey All! i have a few gen watches but looking for a replica for the weekends so if it breaks I won’t be crying in a corner. looking at the omega dark side of the moon, and have been reading as much as I can on the forums. i have the option to buy a Japanese os20 or A7750 movement. is the A7750 movement a dud? I’ve been reading horror stories on these dying shortly after purchase, however most these stories were a few years ago. Would be looking to buy from TT or TOW. or would it be much safer to get the quartz os20? or is there another option I’m not seeing? Thanks in in advance for any help Edited February 13, 2018 by Tobz
Glaude 1,615 Posted February 13, 2018 Hi Tobz ! Well, it mainly depends on whether you want to spend a lot of money or not. Quartz will be cheaper, but since, If I'm correct (I'm no specialist of Omega) there's no real good rep of this model, you better off going with the quartz to save you the potential trouble with the A7750. I suggest you do a little bit of research with the search box and the omega review section !
Tobz 0 Posted February 16, 2018 Hey! So just to cycle back, have been reading the forums non stop and determined when I was searching I was trying to be too specific. Started to relax a bit and just focus on the actual movements and that helped a lot. Ended up buying an Omega Speedy Tuesday, inspired by Project Alaska III from trust time with a venus 75 movement. Great resource this forum

trailboss99 994 Posted February 16, 2018 Actually apart from the fact it's a quartz the OS20 is the better rep because the subdials are in the right place. The mech Moonie has the wrong spacing on the sub dials and to a WIS it's pretty obvious. Me? I'd go the quartz.
Tobz 0 Posted February 18, 2018 Yer I saw that, but just didn’t like any of the dials on the quartz watches
Tobz 0 Posted March 6, 2018 Arrived today, absolutely love it even though the sub dials are a bit spaced out. Otherwise really really good and loving it! https://drive.google.com/open?id=1s32ACk9DbAV6z8NGEul5DYm2_rE3VUHa
