Junior88 388 Posted February 21, 2018 So the first rep I bought about 6 weeks ago is a 116520 Daytona with an A7750 with running seconds at 6. 3 days after I got it, it stopped and wouldn't start again. I was advised to hit my palm with it FIRMLY. I did, and it began to work again. It stopped once more about a week after that, but nothing since. Tonight, after wearing it for the afternoon, I noticed the rotor was much noisier than usual. Like, steel spinning on steel noisier. I've not yet removed the caseback, but I suspect that the rotor has lost it's retaining screw and is spinning against the caseback. Does this sound like something someone has experienced before? Glaude 1,615 Posted February 21, 2018 Why don't you unscrew the case back to find out ? We can only make assumptions without you looking into it
Junior88 388 Posted February 21, 2018 You're absolutely right, Glaude. I was just hoping that someone else may have experienced this, simply because I've never had the back off of anything other than a quartz watch. I guess I was hoping for someone to be able to help me with what to expect and/or look for. Is it even a possibility for the rotor to still be in place, but contacting the caseback? The only thing I can say, is that if you're not living in dirt and dust palace, there's no risk to just pop open the caseback to look. Do it over a soft and clean surface, in a place where you can easily find something that could eventually fall, and then post a picture in here for an eventual diagnostic
Junior88 388 Posted February 21, 2018 First thing I need to do is find something to open it WITH. I don't have a friction ball. I'll likely pop it open on a microfiber cloth. Once I have the means to do so.

Junior88 388 Posted February 21, 2018 Haha Thommo I couldn't push any harder. I know I can find them just about anywhere online. My problem? I don't wanna fucking wait for it to get here .
Junior88 388 Posted February 21, 2018 Ordered a rolex case back kit. It'll be here by Friday.
Robert11 0 Posted February 21, 2018 You don’t need to wait. Just get any ball in the house and wrap some duck tape around it sticky side up. Racket, tennis, kids rubber ball. Makes no difference. Sent from my satellite phone.
Junior88 388 Posted February 21, 2018 So, the wadded up electrical tape decided to work now, and I've unscrewed the case back. What I found , is that the screw is in place. When touched, the rotor rocks on the screw pivot point. Quite sure what I heard was indeed the rotor contacting the caseback.
GenTLe 1,509 Posted February 21, 2018 If there is too much vertical play then probably the central ball bearing is gone. Best option probably is to simply replace the counterweight
Junior88 388 Posted February 21, 2018 The screw on the rotor was indeed loose. Three turns loose to be precise.
