stu7sinc 0 Posted February 25, 2018 I picked up an ARF 36mm Rolex DJ for a mate. He wanted it for his wife. He told her it wasn't genuine when he gave it to her. But the band needed a couple of links removed and he didn't have a small enough screwdriver. She said "its OK, I'm going to Yas Mall later and will get it adjusted at one of the little watch stalls". When he came home, he asked her how she go on. She said " all done and no problem". He asked where she took it and she said " I took it into the Rolex dealer in Yas Mall. Dropped it off and collected it 20 minutes later. And they adjusted it free of charge" I was amazed they didn't say anything.Or confiscate the watch. Or even call the police. I'm fairly sure reps are illegal in the UAE although they are easy to pick up at the gold souks in Abu Dhabi or Dubai so its not strongly policed. So, did they know and say nothing because they didn't want to break the bad news that it wasn't genuine? Did they just not care? Or what's the chances they actually didn't know? stu7sinc 0 Posted February 25, 2018 I did tell my mate his wife was very lucky that turned out so well.My wife sent me a message the other day saying her watch was broken. Same DJ 36mm as my mates wife has but different colour. I'm away on business, but fortunately she knows better that to take it down to the Rolex shop to get it fixed.I will take a look at it on Tuesday when I get home and work out if I can fix it or if I should just get her a replacement. She didn't say how it was broken but if I was to guess I would say the cat has knocked it off the bedside table. Will find out all on Tuesday.Look at the mess of it.Sent from my iNO 5 using Tapatalk
