rtk1972 0 Posted February 25, 2018 Gentlemen, i really would love to buy a royal oak offshore in rose gold. Especially love the rubens barichello edition. but they all have a 7750 movement that doesn‘t seem very reliable as far what i have read. Is there any chance to get a AP with a reliabler movement ? thanks for your help chaps, carsten
GenTLe 1,509 Posted February 25, 2018 Not a chrono. Neither an high end version. There are fake chrono with non chrono movements around. They are real crap.
rtk1972 0 Posted February 25, 2018 I had a feeling that this would be the answer in did a search at the forum on how reliable the 7750 is but no luck. Will it live a few months or any chance for some years of a working 7750 ? Thanks form our help, Carsten
Moondustesp 136 Posted February 25, 2018 Just get a 7750. Get it serviced and don’t worry
RepGuy 108 Posted February 25, 2018 Reliability of the modified 7750's found in high end AP's are spotty. Buy at your own risk
GingerApple 7,304 Posted February 25, 2018 I've bought two ROOs, the first was new from a TD and is going fine so far (couple of months), the second was M2M and I believe was a couple of years old, but again, absolutely fine. I'd encourage you to buy one, but don't bother messing around with the chronos, leave them be.
rtk1972 0 Posted February 26, 2018 (edited) i already have one AP bought and own it since last Thursday. Polished Metal case , blue dial and blue rubber strap. love this watch es ist fits perfect with my blue suit i am wearing today. I had a look at the offshore rubens barichello edition but over 600 usd for a movement and watch where i can't be sure how long it will work..i am not sure at all :-/ EDIT: Would this movement i can get in some AP watches: GENUINE SEAGULL TOURBILLON MOVEMENT HAND WOUND. 19 JEWELS have the chance to live longer than the 7750 ? I know it is no automatic movement but that would be ok.. And one more thing: i saw at Kurvasit some AP watches with A3126 movement. Is this something better or just marketing and inside still is 7750 ? Thanks for your help ! Carsten Edited February 26, 2018 by rtk1972

Get it serviced and don’t worry the problme is that i have no one in the EU who can or will service it. a contect to finland but he also says that the 7750 is quite tricky so he will not service it... One of the most complex movement out there and for sure not a choice for a chrono. There are reps with tourbillon, and they costs north of 750$. Gens with that complication starts from like 80k$
