HOW TO WIND YOUR NEW AUTOMATIC WATCH LIKE A PRO

After the experience I had with the Rolex Blood Dial Submariner, I actually found that upon arrival of my automatic watches I was not winding them properly. I would basically just shake it for a second like my dick after taking a piss, put it on and expect it to work. This wasn’t always the case.

So, through exhaustive research, I’ve found the absolute best way to wind your new automatic watch.

Please understand - this is the only instruction manual you will ever need to make sure your new automatic watch keeps ticking like a pro. I expect all watch enthusiasts - experienced and newbie alike to find this extremely valuable.

You are welcome.

PART 1 - DETERMINE YOUR DOMINANT HAND

While a majority off people wear their watch on their left wrist, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are all right handed. What is important in this step is what arm do you use to throw a balll? That is your dominant hand. If you are ambidextrous, then again, just use the arm you would use right now to throw a ball.

Example: I am right hand dominant. I wear my watches on my left wrist.

PART 2 - PUT YOUR WATCH ON THE WRIST OF YOUR DOMINANT ARM

Your dominant arm was determined in step one. Please put your automatic watch on the wrist of that arm.

Example: I will now put my watch on my right wrist as my right arm is dominant.

PART 3 - YOU MUST HAVE THE PROPER TWO TOOLS

It is absolutely essential that you have the two tools listed - however note - there are many varieties of these tools. As long as they are similar is nature, or in brand, they will work just fine.

Please see the photo below and prepare yourself accordingly.

PART 4 - MATERIAL FOR “JACK-WINDING”

‘Jack-winding’ is usually seen as an up and down motion by your dominant arm. You will need something to stimulate your dominant arm into performing this. I find that sitting in front of a computer, with a screen filled with ‘Porn’ to be the best way to initiate this response.

PART 5 - PROPER JACKING PROCEDURE

Looking at the photos on the computer screen - just imagine yourself naked, rolling around in everything you see on the screen. Let the jack-winding begin.

Start saying to yourself “I’m a #1. I’m a #1”. If you’re a complete ass then you might have to say “I’m a #4. I’m a #4. Continue until you feel tingly. Then when you can’t take it anymore yell out “Thommo!” three times.

Sit back and take a breather. You deserve it.

IMPORTANT - Do not splash your jack on your new watch. That is a rookie mistake.

PART 6 - YOUR AUTOMATIC WATCH IS NOW WOUND

You may now proceed to remove your watch if necessary and place it onto the wrist you usually wear your watch.

Regular Jack-winding is suggested to keep your watch’s power reserve at optimal level.

I have no idea what is happening in this thread.

But on the plus side, my watch is fully wound.

Is it possible to over-wind a watch using this method? I'm concerned about snapping something.

Very good tutorial, but make sure it's not a hand wind movement.  I tried this method on a hand wind watch a few months ago and never got it running.  I also couldn't walk for a few days.

Now there’s an idea.  Ceiling fans as auto winders.

When calling out my name, be sure to look directly into your own eyes in a mirror to see the shame and dispair welling deep within your soul

This all sounds like too much prep and hard work...... I just strap my piece to a watch winder and let it do its magic.
