LightGeek 25 Posted March 29, 2018 Another Toro discount bin. It looks a little different than the one posted a few months back. DOMED CRYSTAL!
J!m 289 Posted March 30, 2018 I like that... and I’m not a B&R fan.
Mr Stubbs 0 Posted March 30, 2018 They are beautiful and comfortable watches. Congrats!
Khronos 1,339 Posted March 30, 2018 Do these actually come with a mineral crystal, like the description says on Toro's site? Or is it a typo and is in fact sapphire, like gen? It looks great!
NCRich 13,714 Posted March 30, 2018 Those domed crystals have a high failure rate. They look nice but they explode in the box. Ask @Thommo82

Ask @Thommo82 Exploded right there in my watch box. Happened to another member too. Same watch of course. Hopefully yours doesn’t have an issue as they are really nice. Gonna fit a domed plexi to mine I think

NCRich 13,714 Posted March 30, 2018 Domed crystals have a high failure rate. Not just this one. I had a Pam with a similar crystal explode 3 times. Eventually put a plexi on it.

J!m 289 Posted March 30, 2018 Not too bad. My P.O. is 45, but that is my upper limit. I might have to pay Toro a visit...
nunu78 1,738 Posted March 30, 2018 I love mine too but has one of the most noisy rotor I’ve ever had
J!m 289 Posted March 30, 2018 I’d probably swap in a 2892-A2 within a week anyway.

I was really excited to receive mine from TB but as another member posted above, the domed crystal (mineral) exploded. I haven't yet been able to source a replacement, although I think I'll aim for a plexi as others have suggested. Pity as I really love the watch
LightGeek 25 Posted March 31, 2018 This one is slightly different than the one posted a few months back. I’m casually optimistic for no explosion....

So the ones that went boom are from a different factory or different version than the one Toro has on special now? Or is the boom why they're on special? I've owned a good number of domed saphs and mins over the years and never experienced the boom, what am I doing wrong?
cvp3 2,099 Posted April 5, 2018 Just ordered mine from Toro. Busy weekend.....2 Bulovas and this B/R. Should I post my QC pictures?
bloon 0 Posted May 2, 2018 For this watch, pick up a domed acrylic. Should look better!
cvp3 2,099 Posted May 2, 2018 My replacement crystal is inbound now. Count me amongst the 'crystal exploded in box club'.
dtodoli 0 Posted May 22, 2018 Sorry to pop in, just wanted to share some br123 love pics, I've been after one of this for a long time, especially for the looks with brown leather. Mineral crystal version from toro, I hope it doesn't go boom on me! Now for the pics (with default band and with leather one) Cheers!
Xpletiv 16 Posted May 29, 2018 You took the back off so maybe the pressure has been released and it won't break............ Anyone have a clue as to why they are breaking? A fraction too big?
PCJ 2 Posted June 26, 2018 So after getting a bunch of quotes from local watch makers (which really wasn't that easy, as nobody wanted to touch it), I've had to send it back to the TD.. It's a shame as I love the watch, but I want to be able to watch it without fear that it'll spontaneously explode!
Thommo82 1,397 Posted June 26, 2018 Mine still sits in the box, crystal less.... Local guys won’t touch it. Wankers
