Recommended Posts

Its been a lot of discussions about the  3714. people are arguing about the ZF vs YLF versions, white dial vs dark dial, blue vs gold hands and etc.

But it seems that no one considering the rose gold case. why?

Shhh... Not so loud. It’s a secret kept among IWC enthusiasts that the rep rose gold 3714 is actually the best of them all. Only those of us who own one can testify.

This is one amazing watch!

I don't get it... it seems less popular than the SS.  not just less, totally ignored.

I see this is the ZF version, right? does someone have the YLF version as well?

Yeah, mine is the ZF version. The Jackie Chan is very nice too and also on my wishlist, just not near the top at this moment.

SS cases are almost always more popular than RG whichever brand you look at.

I think it stems from people worrying about the plating on reps being the wrong colour or rubbing off easily...........

Here is my Jackie Chan, it's a great rep..........

It is amazing. this is also the ZF version, right? (the 9 and the "swiss made" marks are really different in the YLF from my point of view)

I do understand the concern, but I was expecting to see some discussion, you know?

BTW, did you ever try to replate a watch?

That’s a 5001. Very nice, nonetheless.

As soon as you see a scratch you'll become paranoid.

I had a RG with a white dial and accidentally knicked it on something.

I was triggered and ended up selling it for a discount.

It is a matter of approach in life. I have several scratches on my RG watch, and if you look really close you can see the silver metal underneath but, you have to literally put the watch in your eye to see it, so I don't really care about it.

RG is a beautiful effect  - so warm, rich and luxurious. Plays off of dark dials breathtakingly. However if you wear a silver wedding band or ring of some sort, it will clash. That's why its not so popular, IMHO.

What's been said here elsewhere is that many can't credibly pull off wearing gold

Yes, ZF. No mods at all. I’m not sure of the version, though.
