xaneda 1 Posted April 24, 2018 (edited) Back to reality. Having Japan withdrawal symptoms. Lol. Luckily I miss my sd43 and wore it to keep me company. Haha. Edited April 24, 2018 by xaneda

It is absolutely stunning in person. No factory name is listed so I'm not sure of the maker, but it is very well made and seems solid. The datewheel definitely needs an update but other than that, I am extremely pleased with my purchase.
GenTLe 1,503 Posted April 25, 2018 Nice- tough to beat rad on calf- I tend to forget about the rest of my watches for days... hows the PR? I’m considering another black seal- but I’ll keep those hands black this time around. This comes from the offer of Mary (check in her section), ridiculously cheap and the calf strap is the (good) replica one The PR is the standard 6497 movement one.Only thing I had to do has been (other then greasing the gasket and regulate the movement) to modify with the Dremel the lower fake plate so that it doesn't press on the regulator lever, bringing the amplitude from 280° to a bad 150° once the fake plate screws were properly tighten. The mod is invisible and is around the righter jewel of the pic below. It is a typical issue of all these movements:

I wasn’t aware the fake plates need modding. I usually just stick with 6497 and service when arrived. The only “tell” I noticed was the crown-lol- so yeah great watch!!! I just finished servicing an Elgin 6497 that needs a home...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
