Left Coast Guy 24 Posted April 28, 2018 At this point, I probably won't buy another high-end gen.....this hobby has ruined it for me. But in a good way. Between buying reps, building vintage/homage watches, etc, I've just realized the input costs of parts and the real labor specialty to build just isn't as "magical" as I used to think. Really crystallizes the point that gens are massively marked up and just aren't worth what you pay. Anything more than $2,500 or so, and you're just paying for brand not mov't or engineering, etc........which is fine, I just can't look past it anymore. Plus with 40+ watches is my collection at this point, it has become clear that these are just trinkets....I don't wear my gens or my grail builds more than the latest shiny rep I bought, so I wouldn't really get the "value" of a new shiny, expensive watch.
