Vintage Daydate find

Searching for a two tone bracelet on ebay this popped up.  Horribly scratched and with enough DNA on it to clone a human.  Couldn't see the dial.  It was running though.  Asking $30, offered $15 and he took it.  Took it apart, cleaned it, polished it, and put a $1.50 glass in it.  I swear its now one of my favorite watches!

Nice restoration ... as always.

Now you need a new 'gen' bezel to go with that 'shiny' tt jubilee bracelet

That's real purty, Rich. I like the dial design much better than typical dd's.

God everything about this makes me feel super inferior. I invariably get my pants pulled down on ebay.  If I did get the watch and tried to restore it it would end up back on ebay, but for scrap. What an insanely stylish watch for no money! And I was already simmering with jealousy at all Rich's lovely vintage Rolex builds.

Lovely find and restoration, Rich.

But.... it's a quartz with a ticking seconds hand.

I actually prefe the $15 Seiko, lol. Something more balanced about the dial, the Rolex hour markers sit too far inboard of the overall dial!!

What a find mate!!!

It isn't that I don't like quartz watches.

I just prefer the 2 hand variant.

Congrats on the recent acquisition.
