Repair or Replace, Miyota movement?

Recommended Posts

feeder22

I've got an Omega seamaster I brought via M2M here a fair while ago,  that doesn't hold any sort of power reserve. Gotta give it a shake to get it going, the time it takes to stop again varies from 30 seconds to about an hour.

Question is do I lump on another watch or see if I can get this one repaired or have the movement swapped? What say you?

Miyota movements are readily available, and pretty cheap. Depending on how much you like the watch, I say just swap the movement.

Swap it out, cheap and easy.  If you can't do it, sell it and buy a new one.

Pictures of the watch and the movement will be a big help.

Older rep Seamaster has A2824 movement. They are also inexpensive to swap out.

If you have never swapped out a movement then here is tip #1

Seriously, put the watch inside when you are taking the hands off otherwise you will most likely catch a gimps of them as they fly off the dial into  never never land.

I use a presto hand remover, keeps control of them, I use hand levers every now and then just ease them up, but the bag is a good tip mate
