Is titanium better the SS in the summer?

Recommended Posts

I did a quick search but couldn't find anything relevant. So, since Ti is lighter, I'm guessing it's more comfy in the summer than a heavy SS watch. Is that true?

Related & kind of unrelated, Seiko SARX055 or a rep?

For the first part, didn't you just answer yourself ? :D

I guess for the same watch if you have the choice between Ti or SS you can go Ti if the weight and the eventual discomfort of the temperature is a concern to you.

Just be aware that Ti is more prone to scratches than SS.

But to be honest, the material of the watch was never a concern in relation to the outside temperature to me

904L steel is better than 314L steel in the winter .... because it keeps your body warm.

There is NO Summer or Winter in San Jose ... There are only two seasons .... Rain or Shine

I had a Citizen(eco-zilla) and their super titanuim is really nice, light weight and hard to scratch. But, i feel the light weight watch super weird on my wrist, i prefer the SS, but is a matter of personal preference.

I favor my forged carbon watches in the summer. You cant get much lighter than that.

Yes, it does scratch slightly easier, but the scratches on a Ti watch as opposed to SS are a LOT easier to repair using one of those fiberglass pen things.  They're like $10 if I recall correctly.  Easy to "touch up" a Ti watch as opposed to SS.

As for the second part, I'm not a fan of sweating under a SS bracelet on a hot, humid day.  I'd imagine Titanium wouldn't be much different, it's a lighter metal, but the feel is still the same.  Better off with light leather, canvas or Nato/perlon if it's an issue for you.
