IWC Crown Swap Possible??

Recommended Posts

Flave

I would like to install a Big Pilot Crown on a Mark XVII. I know it’s not a straight fit, but wondering if this is a mod that anyone has figured out, attempted, executed, failed miserably at, or has any idea about. Thanks in advance for any input!

You mad bro? :)
Seriously the BP crown is BIG. It will look terrible on a Mark one.

Yes, but that is beside the question :)

I know it will make a bold statement, but I actually like the combo a lot. If there is a similar diamond/onion crown that would be better suited, would love the input

If both the watches are from the same factory they may have the same tube, and if so it is feasible. You should measure the screw down tube on both. Swapping the stem is then no difficult.
But beware that the BP crown is thicker than the mark and will probably badly dig into your wrist.

Came up with the perfect alternative. Found a TD that can source a smaller crown, like the one on the son version of the pilot father/son combo. Thanks for talking some sense into me :)
