GC 4,379 Posted June 7, 2018 I’ve been doing a lot of reading up on Seiko’s history and came across this... https://api.watchville.co/v2/posts/15216/click And I keep reading... and I find this https://www.fratellowatches.com/seiko-6138-yachtman-vs-tissot-t12-chronograph/ and I fall in love. This Seiko UFO is something special. It’s got a speedy vibe (because of the garden post hands) but completely it’s own thing. And the two registers and the orange accents... So, I have no idea why the font has sized itself down... I’ll just keep typing. Anyway, I would love to hear what you fellas think and if you own some share a few pics and stories. BIG GRUNDY 6 Posted June 7, 2018 I agree...Classy and classic watches. I have tried on and off to find some deals out there on them, they are still holding value. So many different variants including the Pogue... Thanks for sharing ...
tabuktime 52 Posted June 7, 2018 Sure I've seen an all yellow one somewhere! I like them, a lot... The 6139 chronograph that belonged to Colonel William Pogue wore on Skylab 4 (making it the first automatic chronograph in space). Even though they gave him an Omega to wear. GC 4,379 Posted June 8, 2018 I hunted down a 1975 model year, I figured if I’m going to own one vintage Seiko, it might as well be a birth year watch. I really like the fence post hands, which are very speedy-esque.

Thanks for the kind words, I went on a mission comparing a half dozen different models and designs from the 70s I.e. cushion, helmet, ufo, tv... the moment I saw the UFO, my mind was made up. Just within the movement Calibre 6138, there are 12 or 15 model varieties! Edited June 9, 2018 by GC Added photo

GC 4,379 Posted June 8, 2018 Here is something interesting that I would like to share as well. Apparently Seiko likes to keep their watches running, and offer very reasonable pricing for after warranty servicing of their watches. They are located in NJ.
