Xpletiv 16 Posted June 21, 2018 Boat anchor. ......get it? Did someone get over zealous and bugger up those case screws? Definitely could use a ProfSteve AR.

It's a guy over at RWI (but also has an account here) that does outstanding Anti Reflective (AR) Coating on crystals, making them almost transparent, you can barely see the glass ! RepGuy 108 Posted June 22, 2018 I must say, if I walked into the office to see a woman with your small wrist size rocking a 50mm U-Boat, I would be impressed. That's one hell of a power move.

Steph Deux 0 Posted June 23, 2018 (edited) Is that something I need to do? I would have thought that such a coating would be an extensive industrial practice, not something some guy does. Doesn't it just wear off? Though maybe it does on gens, too. Now that you mention it, is there anything else I should do with this thing now? After losing the crown guard on the PAM356, I would be quite cross if something just sort of fell off of this watch. Maybe grab gen case screws or band screws? Hm. As long as you can rock it, everything is right in the world. 6 minutes ago, Steph Deux said: Is that something I need to do? No, the 2XAR coating by profsteve is an upgrade, something you would consider if you're thinking of keeping the watch. prof's work is so nice it looks like your watch does not have a crystal installed. It's coating on top and the bottom of the crystal (which explains its great gen like clarity) but if you hit the crystal hard enough on a sharp surface, you may damage the coating on the top. On the bottom it's protected by the crystal. The screws on the U-Boat are pretty sturdy but I would suggest giving them a nice tightening just in case. Small L-wrench should do the trick. It rarely happens but I've read at least one case where one of the bezel screws loosened (thankfully it didn't fall off) . Steph Deux 0 Posted June 23, 2018 Yeah, it can beat up my wrist bump pretty bad though. Thanks for the tip, can I just message him here? Send him the watch, I assume? I looked him up, but didn't see a "how to" post. And thanks for the L-wrench tip. I'll see what I can do!!
