Etelis2013 0 Posted June 21, 2018 Bought Omega aqua Terra from trustytime and after a month I see a wierd sign on the glass that looks like water mark that won't come out. Is it fixable? https://imgur.com/a/iaBQnT6

GingerApple 7,285 Posted June 21, 2018 That looks weird. So the orange mark has just randomly appeared? Does it look inside or outside the sapphire? Can you feel anything on the surface? Have you tried cleaning it with alcohol or something? Has it been submersed in water? More info needed.
Pseudorep 3 Posted June 21, 2018 Have you taken any photos of the watch using flash? Or charged the lume up?I got a similar mark on my Seiko 5 and it was due to the energy of the flash having burnt away some of the AR coating on the inside.

deju 1,875 Posted June 21, 2018 you've lost some of your AR coating. Best thing to do is remove all the coating if it annoys you. I've used brasso to do this on Sapphire glass to remove quickly without damaging it

Can it be scratched off or is the camera flash scenario a better shot? OP, any ideas how it might have happened in your case?

I think some AR is just not as good on some (maybe lighter coatings idk) , mine just grazed an abrasive surface and i noticed a few discoloured marks that did not resemble a scratch, indeed the AR had come off. Took off the remaining AR and watch looked fine!

Only if you have dark hair on it, otherwise you only feel a slight heat on your hand. Tested with off camera flash full power and 150w studio flash full power, for those last ones, it’s more like touching hot wax 1 hour ago, Gingerbubba said: Oooh, good knowledge!!!! OP, any ideas how it might have happened in your case? are definitely can be scratched off at least on the outside coat In case of OP, I had similar mark on a fresh cheap DHGate rep on the steel, wouldn't go away even with Isopropanol, I had to use a very light abrasive to get rid of it, but that was definitely some sort of chemical stain 3 hours ago, Genius said: What the fuck do you use as a flash?????????????
