Help! Need more excuses \ occasions \ functions to buy more watches

I need your creative mind to find more excuses \ occasions to buy more watches.

What do I mean?

I don’t want to buy watches that I’ll not wear. So, I see my collection as a functional collection – every watch has a function – an occasion that I wear this watch. As long as I find a proper occasion that makes sense I convince myself (and the wife) that it is ok to buy a new watch.

Currently, I have a watch to:

1 - Work – when I go with black shoes and belt (JL moonphase – pending order)

2 - Work – when I go with brown shoes and belt (IWC portuguese chrono RG)

3 – Outdoor activity - tips, beach, etc (breitling superocean abyss)

4 – Weekends – when I go with black shoes and belt (breguet classique RG)

5 – Weekends – when I go with brown shoes and belt (breguet classique – pending order)

6 - Weddings \ black tie events (hublot classic fusion black dial)

7 – Casual with friends – beer and stuff (sevenfriday woody)

8 – Work – casual Monday (gen glycine combat 6 classic - you see how creative I can be? :))

9 – Museums/art related occasions (breguet turbi)

 

I want to add up to 10 more watches to this collection.

 

As you can see I need to be very creative to convince myself (and the wife that complains that I already have more watches that I need )

Anniversaries, birthdays, and first dates are great reasons to buy a watch.

Why, just the other day on my wife's birthday she was particularly excited, "Oh darling! How special! You bought yourself a Breguet for my birthday!"

My wife and I refer to my collecting as “trading marbles”. I sell something from my collection and buy something different with the proceeds. I actually have a PayPal account for this very purpose. The upside is that my marble money just gets recycled over and over again, plus anything else I sell on eBay becomes marble money too. Isn’t that convenient? 🤫

Don't be a putz!  The way Birthday Watches work is that when it's SOMEONE ELSE'S BIRTHDAY, you buy  yourself a watch.  This way, you can have a watch for every person you know.  You could have thousands of watches.  

If you know three people with the same birthday, you rotate watches three times on that day!

I gave up on that.... I just wear a Quartz now for all my jacking needs... That way it can last as long as I do.

I don’t really rotate my watches, for work I wear either a bell&Ross BR02 or a Tudor. I like a good tool watch. 

After work I wear whatever floats my boat. 

Watch matches my mood and also style of outfit. 

Some times it doesn’t, I just want to wear it haha
