Akira 0 Posted April 25, 2011 Since I bought one....I was looking around a bit. Somehow this Daytona looks fishy to me. http://cgi.ebay.de/rolex-daytona-6263-/110...=item19c4ea4916 He's selling it for his uncle. No words about papers or box. Pretty bad German and no shipping within Germany, but international. Which puts me off the most is the movement picture. It says "Rolex Geneve 17 Rubis" on the bridge and no engravings on the side Moreover it has + - on the balance bridge. Check out those other gen movements and compare it to the ebay link. What do you think?

pfcdre 0 Posted April 25, 2011 im not sure the metal in the movement dosnt look as good a quality and the bracelet clasp where it says rolex dont look to good but it could be wear, if its a rep its a bloody good one would like to know where he got it,you say his german is not very good he is in germany but does not want to ship inside germany but rather international that would put me on alert. KBH 7 Posted April 25, 2011 Looks like he unscrewed the tube out of the case instead of unscrewing the crown. Also the cut outs for the pushers don't look right. Gen:
pfcdre 0 Posted April 25, 2011 some of the gear wheels that should be brass colour are clearly not im gonna say FAKE!
trailboss99 996 Posted April 25, 2011 Yeah, I'm not happy with the MVT at all. Anyone else seen a gen bridge with only two lines of print on it? As said above, the general quality of the MVT looks bad as well. Col
Eiderdaus 0 Posted April 25, 2011 hi, i don' t have enough exp with vintage but what i can believe is that there might be some guys that own rolex watches and are not German but are living here ( in Germany). he is telling that within Germany he is not shipping only self pick up is offered what i would not see as a bad hint furthermore to me its a trustful gesture. saw some v72 with +- but i don't know all v72 movements and i remember what experienced guys always tell: especially rolex is known for it' s inconcistency. Silverspeed 10 Posted April 25, 2011 By no means am I an expert but the movement in that 6263 on ebay is not the correct gen Rolex 727 movement In the ebay pics the movement is stamped with 726, which I believe is a version of the valjoux 72 used by many chronographs from the '70's....but not in a Rolex Daytona 6263

downfromtheglen 0 Posted April 25, 2011 The seller has a 92.3% feedback rating, and his most recent feedback for a JL movement is negative: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=110653228362

WebWind 1 Posted April 25, 2011 Everyone can clearly see that screw-bolts are too damaged, dirty and all movement wheels looks cheap to me. If there is a poll about that I will vote for fake.
andygt 0 Posted April 25, 2011 Yeah, I'm not happy with the MVT at all.Anyone else seen a gen bridge with only two lines of print on it? As said above, the general quality of the MVT looks bad as well. Col Yes, 72B/722 have 2 or 5 lines of writing. Calibre 722-1 and 727 have 5 lines. No Rolex 72x have +- though and most have (maybe all) have "swiss made fabre suisse" engraved on them. As SS says 726 was never used by Rolex. The dial looks a bit funky to me too but there are service dials with silver subdials instead of white. As mentioned the cutouts are wrong - they are not like that on either the round profile case or the convex case. Bracelet clasp is a rep. It's fake.
Ska 11 Posted April 25, 2011 FAKE AS FUCK!! Look at the chrono release spring, (directly between the pusher pivot and the main engraved bridge.) Its far more recessed than it should be. And the centre gear cutouts are completely wrong. There are SO many problems with the movement and the case, obviously the engraving is a huge giveaway, but also notice the lack of guilloche on the main bridge as well. This is a franken movement and not a good one at that. The case is very suspicious too, pusher recesses are sloppy (and its not going to be through age unless someone used the chrono 5 times a day for 20 years.) Dragonscape 0 Posted April 26, 2011 The minute, hour, and second hands are the wrong finish for a 6263
Akira 0 Posted April 29, 2011 It's still for auction. Has somebody else reported it? I reported it and also send a mail to Rolex Germany.... This watch will sell big time if nobody stops it.

Pentax 0 Posted April 29, 2011 Could this maybe be a Zenith Movement?
llsteve80 0 Posted April 29, 2011 Super fake. Maybe the dial is real, there's too many variations to tell for sure, looks like a big red. On most rep dials, the subdial numbers don't extend to the bezel like they should. Movement... too much wrong to list, pushers are too short, teeth on crown rounded instead of sharp, the 110 on the bezel is too far spaced out, I don't think I'd even call this a franken.
