@Del Wow! This really looks impressive for the money. I hope I can squeeze it onto my Explorer 1, the bloody thing has almost zero space between the case and the springbars. 

Is the strap stiff or nice and pliable?

It's soft and pliable straight out the box - I think I paid full price actually and I still thought it was great value!  Might buy another now as I see they are on sale...

Btw, I bought the "grey" one, which is more light/vintage brown than grey, as you can see from my photos.

I agree, it's a great value, even at full price. 28 quid is a bargain IMO. They do charge a criminal price for shipping to my country , but that's just the way it is. 

Color of the one you have is the loveliest by far!

I just wonder if a racing style strap is an acceptable choice for the Explorer 1..

Note that they have the same strap without the "racing holes"!    Also on sale.  Could be a better option?
