Hi all,

The owners of RWI and the company Duckways BV collaborated to create an online platform for image hosting and sharing. The announcement made by Daytona4me over on RWI:

Uploading images in bulk gives you the option to copy the direct BB code at once, without the need of modifying IMG tags or whatever. It just works like we always wanted an image hosting site to work for sharing images on forums..

Admin Update: The "Upload Image" button in the post dialog now connects with picr.me

We have no commercial intentions and made sure images will remain online, backups are made daily and we do not erase or auto prune old photo's.

Hope you all enjoy!

Alternatively, once you've uploaded a picture, under the picture there's a tab that says 'Embed Codes'. Click on that, then go down to the second box down which is under the 'Direct Links' section titled 'Image URL'. Copy that link, paste it into your thread, hit the return key and the photo will embed itself in your thread.

You don't have to register but if you do, you can keep track of your uploads, plus it shows the team that people are using their system, it's always nice for a dev team to see their product being used and liked :)

As long as it’s there you own it, I see.

These hosting sites don’t run themselves, plus storage ain’t free, I understand that. So do you make the necessary funds by selling the images?

Pretty much, yes. But it's only there for legal reasons, I don't want to get sued for photo's someone uploaded that are used on site's I don't own myself.
Hosting is not free, no. We invested in it. We do however NOT sell anything that has been uploaded and will never do.

To date we don't make funds. However, when we're big enough a donation button might return our investment.

My company is all based on developing apps and high-traffic website's. So, a platform like this is a great demo for us to manage and see what possible steps might get in our way during the launch of updates/improvements. IMO a great investment to get better at what we do for a living.
