Crystal Explosion on the BR 123

Lots of people have suffered from the random unwarranted explosion of the crystal on the BR 123.  Remove the movement, clean up the rim and replace with a Sternkreuz HW 370.

Glue it in with some GS hypo cement.  Press down, let dry, put movement back in.

Use this:

About $5 from Cousins UK.  Looks better than the sapphire that came with it and exploded.

Still waiting on new plexi to arrive for mine. It’s in the shop. Only getting charged $30AUD for crystal and resetting. 

My B&R was advertised as mineral.

Rich would you say it’s a high or low dome?

Watchsmith ordered both just in case. I only took in the case so he couldn’t see it is a rep, but he’s asking me to bring in the movement to check which crystal to install. I’m thinking it’s a low dome right?

Pretty sure that's a high dome mate, you sure your smith will be funny about a rep? I tell mine that im working on it as job, he's more than happy for me to bring any in to him when I get stuck, he doesn't have any hang ups.

That is a high dome plexi.  The hardest part of the job was cleaning out the broken glass from the rehaut.

Not sure, first one I took it to wouldn’t work on it cos it was rep. That’s why I just took the case in to second guy.

The one from toro on special is only available on Rubber. 

I asked him if he could source SS bracelet and he said no.

May have better luck elsewhere

Doubtful.  I've never seen a rep on bracelet.  Much discussion about how people would buy one if it came on bracelet, but no bracelet.
