JL Master Ultra Thin Moon mini review

Recommended Posts

VMSG

So I got the new JL Master Ultra Thin Moon silver dial (ZF) from @Mary Watch a few days ago, and I've been asked by some members to write a review.

I'm not much of a writer, so I'll keep short :)

Some specs (that you can find on any TD site):

Size

39mm x 10mm

Movement

Miyota 9015

Functions

Hours, minutes, seconds, moon phases and date display

Case

Solid 316L stainless steel case

Crystal

Scratch-proof sapphire crystal with green AR coating (same as genuine)

Dial

White dial

Strap

Deployant clasp

Why I got this watch?

I was looking for a classy watch to wear for work when I go with a black suit. I was thinking to get the black dial as well but decided it is too much dressy and will not fit for work (more like black tie events).

The dial and hands

The dial has a beautiful sunburst, and it looks really nice (could not capture it in my photos but it is crisp). The markers are very gen-like and have small angle upwards that create a 3d effect. The 12 marker is not so great, I've rejected one watch where it was terrible but also on this one (and others as well from what I hear), it is just not 100% aligned.

The strap

What can I say, the usual crap.

The deployant clasp is nice. It has this "quick release" option (also the gen have it), and I hate it, but I can't complain that it is too much close to the gen :)

The movement and power reserve

This is the real beauty of this watch – it is a true moonphase. Not a day/night indicator but a true 29.5 days moonphase just like gen. it keeps good time, and the power reserve is about 40 hours.

I know this is very short so if you have more questions please feel free to ask!

If only I could be that concise!

Hope the watch is working out!

Just bought this watch in exactly the same configuration! Montblanc produces a heritage collection piece just like this one for around 2000€ which is a bargain for a moon phase complication!
