Ped 13 Posted April 30, 2011 Evening all Title says it all really, any advice - and I'm anticipating something abusive from you scone! peedog
Dendo 93 Posted April 30, 2011 Provided it does actually fit - do it yourself Peedog. It is not that difficult. Get the tools - screwdriver to release the stem, hand remover, the insert of a pen to put the hands back on and a rubber ball to open the back. There are many tutorials that can take you though the stuff. Oh and be careful...... and let us know how you get on!!
Silverspeed 10 Posted April 30, 2011 It's not that straight forward....handsize on a Swiss 7750 is different than on a A7750
Ska 11 Posted April 30, 2011 Yup, I don't know which is bigger, but if you're lucky you might be able to re-broach the hands.
Dendo 93 Posted April 30, 2011 It's not that straight forward....handsize on a Swiss 7750 is different than on a A7750 @peedog - given this fact - I would look for someone to do it for you. @Silverspeed - do you mean diameter of hole at the end of the hands where they fit on the canon pinion? Silverspeed 10 Posted April 30, 2011 Yes the problem is the subdial hands...as I remember the tubes on rep subdial hands are narrower

I do like to do basic things but I get out of my depth too easily when they start creating non-standard and non interchangeable parts.

sconehead 5 Posted April 30, 2011 Asian 7750 28800 : 120/200/20/20 Hand size - Hour: 2.00mm Hand size - Minute: 1.20mm Hand size - Central Second: 0.20mm Hand size - Sub Dial: 0.20mm ETA 7750 : 120/200/25/20 Hand size - Hour: 2.00mm Hand size - Minute: 1.20mm Hand size - Central Second: 0.25mm Hand size - Sub Dial: 0.20mm *NB: Slow beat Asian 7750 same as gen ETA Basically, if you're happy decasing the movement, removing the dial and hands the actual broaching (widening) of the chrono second hand ain't that difficult. A quick search on ebay found this (item no.350456117556) However, you only need one size of broach and a broach vice so you may find it cheaper to buy just the specific items you need. Anyway, here's one of the better expanations of how broaching is achieved, http://www.homageforum.com/viewtopic.php?f...hilit=broaching ...and next time do the legwork yourself you lazy bugger...
