OMEGA SPECTRE MKF (review and photos)

Recommended Posts

inkyz

Hello everyone I will present a small review of the last purchase I made at TRUSTY.

First of all I would like to thank Andrew from TRUSTY for his patience and his seriousness for the different exchanges we have them to have the MKF version of the SPECTRE (which has been put to his catalog recently).

Link : http://www.trustytime.biz/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_83&products_id=18966&zenid=602e4ba10ed80e25a7dfb1a1a6ff9625

Originally I wanted to take the VS/V6 version of the SPECTRE, but after long search and have browsed many lines of reading on the forums, and by the lack of stock at different TD's I decided to take the MKF version of the SPECTRE.

A big thank you also to LAPAVEL and MECH500 who well fed the forums on this choice.

That being done, let's move on to serious matters.

In this article, we will not talk about the movement that is an A2824-2 with a decoration and that is proven in many of our rep.

Regarding polishing, it's just amazing, the claps and bracelet is very close to gen and very heavy.

In short, externally speaking, this MKF is the closest to the GEN version.

Before wearing it and taking pictures, I placed the bracelet in the ultrasonic bath and the watch was finely cleaned with a small miracle product, the WristCleanWatch Spray produced by VERAET. (with true microfiber drying)

Regarding the nato, he went to the washing machine placed in a small net with softener at 30 ° for 30 minutes.

After all, it shows a beautiful watch.

Note 1 : do not hesitate to come back to me to make this review even more complete to help others make up their minds.

Note 2 : All photos taken was made with an iPhone X without retouching.

Note 3 : Other photos will come when I will have a little more time.

Looks very nice on both steel and strap.

I didn't realise the case looks quite slim despite the decorated movement.

When I saw that it was 15mm on Trusty, I expected it to sit much higher on your wrist.  An impressive watch. I’ve never really considered Omega, but this watch is impressive. Looks well made.

Great photos  and review but now I'm totally confused after purchasing a Spectre recently in which I did a lot of reading and comparisons from various  scources and was taken to believe  from the majority that the recently released V6 Factory version with the brand new A8500 Asian clone was the "ULTIMATE" edition that beat all others both in movement and closeness to the gen?

Most reps of this watch use the Asia 2824 (a trusted movement as you say) however V6 didn't modify an existing movement but built their own movement from the ground up as an exact copy  of the Omega 8500 and didn't use a modified Asia 2824 or Miyota?

Like most reps I suppose it's all down to individuals own opinion and expertise and  who you believe to be the Jedi?

All I can say is, I own a few reps and all are superb in their own way but after I received my Spectre off Mary I was blown away with the quality of watch and movement.

I must admit my holy grail watch would be an Omega DSOM, however with all the great factories producing great reps not one can come even close to producing a convincing Speedy because of the sub dial spacing and using modified movements. If V6 can make an 8500 from the ground up why can't someone build a good speedy movement?

Ps The link to Trusty describes the movement as an Asia A8400 clone not an Asia 2824 as you mentioned so now even more confused with V6 calling it Asia 8500 clone.

Great stuff!!!!

This will be my next purchase. Like mentioned above is this the A8400?

What's the difference between A8500 vs A8400 Vs A2724-2?

I have only had the opportunity to deal with pam replica movement A6497 and the pam382 movement (dont know what movement it is).

Nice.

Watch looks stunning, really does. Thanks for the review, this is now high up on the list. Look great on both bracelet and Nato.  Lume shots look fantastic.

Did you pay extra to get it waterproofed from Trusty? Have you tested that at all?

Might need to invest in an Ultrasonic Cleaner too. Do you reckon they make a big difference. Bracelet looks great.

Cheers

This is a stunning looking watch and is also now on my list!

The lume in particular looks well done. What is it like at night?

Where do you get an uultrasonic cleaner from and how much do they cost?

Looks like a great purchase. Enjoy your new watch :)

This is a good ones friend has. They also have smaller ones for $30-$40 that are still big enough for watch bands.

Great review and photos man!
The 15mm thickness is a bit too much for my 6" wrist. But your photos made me reconsider :)
