Glycine.......I think I love you

Recommended Posts

Sooo, I'd love to say that I've never bought every color of a watch model....but that would be a lie. Bought my first Glycine Airman 42mm Quartz (aka double 12) in blue and had to have the black and white. Absolutely no regrets. Easily the finest watch for the money period.

Ok I checked out the pic before reading your post so was curious why you bought 2 of the same colour. Gotcha...

Almost didn't see the date window!

Is it a chrono?

What's the subdial for?

Is there a tail on the hour hand or is that a GMT hand?

The watch looks pretty straightforward at a glance, I didn't expect to have so many questions about them!

I really like the black one. Nice pickup!

First, these are available on eBay. List price is $349, but he'll accept $180. Maybe less, I didn't try. The watch is really just stunning in person. First the size at 42mm and it just wears awesome. Feels more like 40mm to me. The dial is just amazing.

- Top crown unlocks the bezel so you can move to the time zone of your choice

- Middle crown acts like every watch, time/date set

- Lower crown sets the lower dial to the exact time you want. No hour jumping, so if you want to be 30 minutes different from main dial, so-be-it!

So basically you can track 3 time zones. Watch the video so you can see this thing in high res'. The caseback, strap, bezel, finish details.....this watch just rocks!

Daaaaaaaaaammmmnnnnn that is cool!

And you bought 3 of 'em, so you could track 9 time zones

Cheers for explaining!

Yes @cvp3 We are formally requesting a photo of all 3 of them on one of your arms - like a true world traveler!

If I still worked for an airline - I'd buy one of these. Extremely practical - and I love the execution.

Plus, very handsome looking.

Right now Glycine is a killer value. I bought my Airman 18 (39mm) before the Invicta buyout so I paid double what they are going for now. But if i didn't have one I'd buy one. They are great.

So - you sent him a half price offer?

That's awesome... Can't hurt to try!

Are you the world's richest man, @cvp3? I'm so envious of your disposables. Unfortunate, as green isn't on my colour wheel

I’m very lucky...........that I worked 37 years in the same industry and finally became good at it. Lots of dues paid in my 20’s, 30’s....hell even in my 40’s. 60-80 hr work weeks are still the norm but I love it. I have a great TEAM of people.

@cvp3 not that it was any of my business but thanks for sharing and congratulations on your successes!

Sounds like you could teach that lazy @GingerBlubba a thing or two about hard work...

Just picked up the other 3 Automatics.

Decent deal. Watchgooroo just listed some new Glycine Automatic Double Twelves on Bracelet for $599. Offered and accepted $400. Next best price I could finds was $449 for similar on strap, not bracelet. Safe to say the $599 is a 'best price' for these models. $390 is pretty good, wish I could've waited for an ebay coupon event.....but my impatience got the best of me.

Unfortunately Jomashop raised their price to $449 while I had it in my basket. I found a better deal on eBay with Airman Worldtimer Double Twelves on bracelet for $390 Net.
