Rolex 1675 building

Recommended Posts

Rr778

I’m interested in starting a GMT 1675 building project. According to the fact that i’m not able to work on watches on my own, i have to find someone trusted that will build it for me for a resonable price. Which are the best 1675 builders on the forum? Which is more or less the minimum budget level i need to invest?

Thank you in advance :D

380-450 is a good starting price for the mod.

Easier to put out a want to buy, unless you've got very specific requirements.

Depends on how far the rabbit hole you want to go.

I got a lovely 1675 that sits in the $500-600 range, but you can go a lot more expensive

Tripdog is your builder if you want the best, the man creates works of art. Expect to pay $1k plus though.

Google 'RWI 1675 Tripdog' and you'll really find some of his builds (or swap the '1675' for '6542' for watch porn). Such as this:

Yodog can be much more budget friendly than Tripdog, but I believe Trip is the best.  The best is a bit extreme for a toy watch.  You can buy a good 3804b movement one  using mostly all the factory components for $3-400ish.  Yuki dials are $100, others can be much more.  Bezel assembles are about $100 and up.  Viet cases are stupid expensive.

Why are dogs always the best? Tripdog, Yodog, ARF.....

Everyone knows we're necroposting, right?

here’s mine.

Reshaped case to gen spec and thickness = $200

yuki dial/hands/bezel = $160

DG3804B movement = $50

yuki crown/tube = $30

the prices were something like that. I had it built last year.

pretty decent for me. I like the battered look which has grown on it since I’ve been wearing it almost non stop for a while.

Looks great thanks for posting. I've just swapped mine for a Clark Crystal and Insert from Ebay (WSO). I'll post pictures but total price was about 10.00 for crystal and 17.00 for the insert. I can't really distinguish the inserts  from how it came from Perfect Clones. Also ordered a new gasket that I destroyed and flattened (1.90)
