IWC Portuguese - Removing back - any tips?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

My 18 month old Portuguese 7 Day seems to have a very small amount of dust on the dial/inside of the glass. It's not too noticeable (too small to take a photo) but it's annoying the heck out of me.

So given the proprietary case back, an tips on how to remove this? Any any tips on what to watch out for when removing the movement / dial to clean with my puffer?

Best, Neil

A photo of the case back could help, but by looking at TD pictures, this one seems to have a simple threaded case back

You can remove dust with a fine brush, with rodico and with a hand blower

Thanks for the tip, photo attached.

With another rep (Omega Seamaster 300m) the back simply twisted off by using one of the soft sticky ball tools, I've not yet tried on this one but from what you say it might work.

Any experience in terms of where I need to press to remove the stem?

You see the indentations around the case ? That would be where you put a case opener tool, but with a sticky ball you should be able to do the same, don't press too hard though, there's still a piece of glass there ;)

I believe this is a deco plate under the rotor, you would have to remove the rotor and the deco plate to access the stem release screw/button
