Bravo, that was superb. I have one, and would note that it's the only white face in my collection. Something just sits right about it in this color that I find rather weak in a Panerai, for example.

Thank you ! I have mainly white face in my collection, but this one clearly stands out !

I had some lawyers over my house on business a few days ago and with only the slightest glimpse of the edge of the white dial under his sleeve I was instantly mesmerised by his Portuguese Chrono, that’s how much this watch stands out.
At the end of our meeting when he asked if we had any questions, I said ‘yeah, can I have a better look at your watch?’  He took it straight off and handed it to me. Such a beautiful piece.
I was so tempted to say ‘so, ZF is it?’.

Thanks for the review, I'm very keen on grabbing one of these and trying to decide between the 3714 and the 3716

Hi guys

I need to change  my old 3714 case modified by Domi years ago with a new one for my gen 79350 movement... Is the ZF  bezel assemblement to the case screwed like gen or it is simply pressed ?

Which mod are necessary to ZF case to fit gen 79350 ?

What a great side by side comparison!! As far as I can see the only reason not to go Rep is that a7750 movement. Thanks for this great write up!

Not even that nowadays. The bad 7750s were replaced by decent ones back at least 3/4 years ago.

even todays 7750’s are flaky at best and you should still not use the chrono in my experience.

I have two of the ZF 3714s which are a few years old now and both are working flawlessly.

worrying about movements seems like something people new to the hobby get hung up on.

In the 8 years I’ve been buying reps with a large collection turnover I’ve never had a problem.

Not new to the hobby. Have been buying reps for over a decade. 7750’s are very sensitive. I think you have been very lucky then with your purchases. It helps not using the chrono function for sure.

Even ETA 7750 and 7753 (the latter is in my gen Baume & Mercier) have very strict instructions on date setting for example (not doing date advancements within a certain timeframe.)

Out of my around 130reps, many are 7750s. The only problems I have had with them were totally unrelated to the usage of the chrono functions :) Most common issue is sticky (or stuck open) reversing gear (so hard handwind or no autowind) or broken/worn teeth in the gear that transfer autowind to the mainspring barrel.
