edwelly 0 Posted May 4, 2011 Hello all. Can someone explain AR to me? Why is this so important and when I hear double AR, why does it appear bluish? Thanks - Erik
trailboss99 997 Posted May 4, 2011 AR = Anti Reflective coating It is a coating applied to the glass to reduce reflected glare. The best ones are totally transparent but a lot of the rep stuff (and some gen) has a bluish tinge. Try searching for "chieftang" to see some of the best. edwelly 0 Posted May 4, 2011 Col Thanks. when I would do a search for AR, it would not come up with anything since you need at least 3 characters to search with.
Slim 0 Posted May 4, 2011 Most AR coatings have a bluish tinge in the right light. My Aerospace has super AR, still pristine after more than ten years. Most AR coatings will show minor marks and scuffs after a while, but you won't notice them unless you hold the crystal to the light.
