Evolution of a 6200

I am no master at modding watch but they are still fun to mod or age.

Bought this piece awhile back and the Athaya dial was too "new"....it had been matted but the markers were too "new".....

AND THAT SECONDS HAND WAS HORRIBLE: BADLY HAND PAINTED AND JUST NOT FITTING WELL WITH THE WATCH.  AND NOT REALLY PERIOD CORRECT.

The insert was wrong and the rivet was normal cartel.

21j movement, slow beat.

then, I bought a more proper insert, a Yuki bracelet.

While waiting, I proceeded to age the dial

Then, I gave the lugs some beveled edges but to look like they were a tad worn out, after 60 years....

then bought and aged and installed a lollipop hand.

Getting on nicely....I think....

A tad more even aging of the dial (not sloppy looking aging)

Installed the insert...

Pretty much done....

In person, the dial shows different aging looks depending on the light source and the angle....quite nice.

I only removed the top hand (seconds hand) with a sharply chiseled pair of tweezers.

Easy and less than a minute.
