In case of emergency…

In case of emergency… this watch may not help you much.

I present to you my Breitling Emergency rep:

It is a little battered and beaten, but it keeps excellent time due to its quartz movement.

This watch took me a LONG time to find.  Trusted Dealers could not source one, members who visited Shenzhen markets on my behalf could not find any, nor have I ever seen one appear on M2M sales.  I almost gave up my search!  Fortunately, of all places, I stumbled across this one at a local pawn shop.

The rep is modeled after the pre-digital version of the Breitling Emergency.  As you can see from the pics below, there is only a slight resemblance to its genuine counterpart:

Front (rep on left, gen on right)

Back (rep on left, gen on right)

The real trick to this watch is its emergency transmitter.  On the original, when unscrewed, the watch would transmit an emergency signal that would summon a rescue team to your location (supposedly).

On the rep, when unscrewed, you are provided with the world’s smallest functioning compass.

Well… at least you would know which way to start walking.

What do you think of this rare and unusual watch?  Please share your thoughts and comments below.

Didn’t know they repped these! The gen is very cool. I could never own it, even with the ridiculous fine for miss use it’s like a red rag to a bull.

I would have to use it

I think I prefer the rep, better dial proportions.

Urgh, what is this monstrosity... Totally fantasy watch (and not good fantasy, more like nightmareish...).

That is probably a 50$ (bad) fake... Doesn't have any value. Sorry to be brutal, but really it's BAD.

I'd pay more for the tablecloth. A whole penny.

Interesting choice of color for the dial, it look like some vintage watches from 80's. i would buy a watch with same kind of dial
