Couldnt find a Chanel forums page so I posted here, I am just a little confused as to which one to get

I believe that the gen J12 Marine is only avilable with an automatic movement.. If you care about that..

 

Quartz will be more accurate because it won't use any seconds per day like an automatic movement.

 

It's really up to you. I'd go for the automatic version because I'm not really into Quartz watches

FWIW,

I have a Chanel J12 book from an AD store that they gave me.

Most J12s in it are automatic and have the date window at 4:30PM.

There are just 2 quartz models. Here, the date window is at 6:00PM.

The book is printed by Chanel but no publishing date.

Book, not link. A book I got from a Chanel AD store about a year ago. I scanned 2 pages from it for ya.

Look at description: P.81 a quartz. P.79 automatic. These were the only 2 quartz in the entire book.

 

I was recently ordering a Chanel from Mary and she sent me a pic from her line that was a quartz but said automatic on the dial.

I went to the book to see if Chanel AD quartz watches actually existed. She is getting me a quartz with no automatic printed on the dial.
