Great looking homage. I've been looking at these on eBay, what's the quality like?

Case, weight, strap all on par with what you would get from a high end rep.  Pushers are pretty squared off, no screw in crown.  Mineral crystal, so it's not too hard to scratch the crystal.  This one already has a hairline you can see between the 11 and 12 markers in the pic.  Ticking "chrono" hand (as you can see in the pic), so that's not like the gen or reps.  The subdials are pretty nice, the dials are actually pretty nice overall.  Lugs, strap inserts and screws are pretty on par with the reps as well.  No magnification on the date, and the date wheel is pretty sunken below the dial.  The subdial hands don't really line up to "12" on 2 of the three subdials on this watch and the same case with one of the subdial hands on my panda version.

Running the "chrono..."  I don't know what the hell this thing is doing.  The top subdial moves in what I'm guessing are 1/10th of seconds, it spins pretty fast.  The seconds are actually counted on the dial at 6 and minutes at 9.  The minutes changes to 1 minute after about 35 seconds, so that thing's way the hell off.  Same deal with both watches.  And if you run the "chrono" for more than a minute or so, good luck getting everything to reset   Bottom line, buy it for looks, sturdiness, and telling time with a ticking quartz movement.  Don't buy it to use as a chrono.  These things run around $70, so all in all, they're really good for the price point.

One more thing, no matter if you get a stainless or rose gold version, all strap buckles are stainless.  This is something I see in reviews on Ali that people don't like, so just FYI.

Here's the link to the photos from when I first got them.  I don't have the panda on today to take a pic of it (I'm currently at work as well.)  Lemme know if you want to see more of these.

Happy Monday, All!  For CONUS members, be sure to survive this week's worth of winter storms. Be safe!

Today, my all-time fav ROLEX: 16613lg (I believe), blue-and-gold two-tone ROLEX SUB. If I had the gen, I'd wear it all the time (However, the $12,000 price tag put the kabosh on any hopes of buying it.) This rep with the A2836 engine will suffice. dave:

Beautiful piece. May I ask if it's the same as this: http://www.silix-prime.me/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=115_158_226&products_id=1823

Been looking forever for a 16613 without the Rehaut engraving and just came across this today which looks lovely OOTB.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Gang!

It's HUMPDAY, so let's celebrate!  "Drinks" are on me, heh!

Today, this rarely worn ROLEX EXPLORER II w/ black dial (which I chose over the white dialed one). It's been so L O N G since I wore it that I had to palm slap it after I wound it to get the movement running. That did the trick and has been running smoothly since. dave:

Hi, Murry!

Yes, mine strongly resembles this one on SILIX; even has the A2836 movement as well; but as you know, mine has the rehaut engraving.  I secured mine a very long time ago from a TD who is no longer in business; that said, since I can't afford a new gen -- or even a used one -- this rep will certainly suffice.  Good luck; and when it arrives, be sure to post some wristies of it.

dave
