Gen Rolex Datejust 36mm Two-Tone 116233

Recommended Posts

Just received the gen Rolex DJ36 TT 1166233 black dial with diamond markers.

I bought this watch for my wife as a Valentine's gift. It supposed to arrive February 12th, but there was a delay. So It did not arrived until today.

Originally, I was looking to get a Rolex DJ36 116243 (two-tone, diamond dial markers, and diamond bezel). But with the MSRP of $19,700USD, it is way over-priced comparing to the 'exact' same 116233 watch without the diamond bezel at $12,850USD. That is close to $7K for just the fricking diamond bezel. So I decided to get the 116233 and buy an after-market 18K diamond bezel, which would save me at lease $5.5K

The dial is BLACK ... but with the gold hand and gold diamond marker plus the lighting, it does look like gray.

At some angle, it looks completely black.

With the correct lighting and angle, you can see the SEC just barely.

I did get mine to wear a Rep Cartier as a back up to her main watch  - but she only showed interest when I got her a Gen strap

Bloody women!

She is 100% supportive with my rep addiction hobby, but she would rather wear a $50 Timex then a $500 rep. I am good with that.

I bought this for her because she started wearing larger watches. She took my gen Omega Constellation and DJ 16233 ... and she love them. She stopped wearing her DJ28.

I got her this Michele Deco Madison right when I started buying reps.

Since I got into rep, I would not see me buying another gen luxury watch for myself. Two of my gen Rolex are in the safe deposit box. The others gens are being taken over by my wife. Reps let me try out other brand that normally I would not buy.

At 5% of the cost, it is a lot more fun to own 50-60 reps than 2 luxury gens.

Hey B , you should have her wear one of my builds , she would have never found out it was franken.........:D

She's a lucky lady though my wife got a pair of Adidas sneakers and only because she kept complaining about her feet hurting from her old sneakers.
