GMT Master II

Recommended Posts

Adit

Hi all.

I have been deciding what rep(s) I would like the most and whilst looking, somewhere or other I saw a beautiful GMT Master II, RG/SS with a dark green dial . Do you think that I can find it now? I've been trying to find it again for hours. I've looked everywhere I thought it might be.....without success. Erm... :uhm:

Long shot I know, but any suggestions chaps? TIA

Thanks for that. I'll have a look into Trusty Time. It was actually the Rose Gold/ Stainless Steel one I liked,  but I can just ask I guess

:thumbsup2:

When I want a watch I send a picture of it to [email protected] (insert dealer of your choice) and ask them what is available.  They respond with what is available and I decide if I want it.  Beats the hell out of looking at out of date websites.  All dealer websites are inaccurate.

Trusty has a GMT Master II TT YG/SS ... not rosegold.

Thanks for that. I certainly wouldn't say no, but the RG one really caught my eye, even more so

I may have seen it when I was browsing recently on the chinanoobwatch site (not that I would dare risk my hard-earned on a non-TD) but it looks like that website has been closed down now  (there is just a statement from an American law firm, it appears).

It was an amazing-looking site, designed to draw-you-in I guess and good for educational purposes. I can' t find the "miroggg" noob reviews on YouTube  anymore either. Maybe they are connected.

Aootime and Kuvarsit sites look quite interesting too (still no green dial RG/SS GMT II found yet though).

I've only seen the yellow gold/stainless steel watches with the green dial available.  Never seen a rose gold/stainless steel one.

In the famous words of Baldrick: "....or did I dream it?.."

No, I definitely saw it, it was in my "cart" (read "wish-list") along with a "Hulk" and a Yacht-Master "

To the best of my knowledge, the green dial GMT has only been offered with solid YG or TT Steel/Yellow gold.

I think RG sees exclusively the black face being offered.

Hmmm, you may well be correct chaps. I wonder if it was a noob watch I'm thinking of (trying to learn lots atm). I just found a site called noobfactorywatches.shop

I wonder if it is their new name or one of the scam sites

Yes, thank you, I have read the horror stories. I really was just looking for this particular elusive Rolex, to see if it was there where I first spotted it.

Send Mr.TimeZone, Mary Watch, Marvelous Replica, or TrustyTime and email with a picture or description

Please consider your choice carefully as a RG/SS GMT IIc with a green dial would be a fantasy model anyway. Green dial is solid YG only, TT is black dial only.

After a few shots of hard liquor, yellow gold does look like rose gold. ;)

Are you sure it had a green dial?  There is the "rootbeer" GMT IIc which is rose gold and s/s, but has a black dial and two tone bezel.

Si, definitivamente!

That is the reason why it stood out to me, it looked gorgeous, so I thought "I want one of those!"

I have seen the "rootbeer" one, that's quite nice too. If only I could remember where I had seen it (not with beer-goggles on, Lux, I promise), but I have been scanning a lot of the suppliers listings and it was there somewhere :uhm:

You are completely correct when they come from AD's.  I've seen a few gen pics of people who were able to somehow source the green anniversary dial from the full gold anniversary edition and have swapped them into a 116713.  So technically, they do exist in the wild but are mash ups done by some either very rich people or people who have a hookup with some sort of Rolex dial source.  Extremely rare to find a 116713 with a green dial, I had a rep of that watch a while back and is still one of my top regrets in selling it.  It had the yellow bezel markings and I did a gold paint mod on it.

Funnily enough, there's a senior member on RWI called "yukiwatch" who seems to specialise in parts, particularly dials

After much searching, still no RG/SS green dial GMT II, as you suggested. It must have been late one night after hours of browsing that I thought it was RG. The closest I've seen is the noob factory rol1063 model, which is YG, but which looks nowhere near as yellow in the photo I have recently found, so perhaps I mistakenly assumed that it was RG. Ho hum...

Noooooo! I've only been here for a couple of weeks, far too early for a newbie to start placing orders, surely.

I'm still trying to get my head around the best options for me. ..2813, 2826, 3135, 7750......Asia clone this, ETA that, Swiss the other, which TD offering the best value, which trusted payment method..etc, etc..

Still much reading and learning to be done methinks, before I take the plunge :D
