I am thinking about a Seiko Diver mod project, there must be regular members around here that do these projects, anyone able to talk to me about this?

I have done a few.

Most commonly modded Seiko`s are the SKX and SNZH range.  Plenty of how to guides floating around the forums and internet.

Check out these suppliers for ideas.

Andy, The SNZH models are a bit more attractive to me as I like the presentation back, the crown at 3 instead of 4, and the lower initial purchase price.   With that said, are the SKX and SNZH parts interchangeable or will I have more selection with the SKX?

The parts are not interchangeable. There is a much wider selection of parts available for the SKX models. The SNZH models are widely used for Fifty Five fathoms, Black Bay and Spectre mods.

Check out the blog on Crystaltimes website. He is in the process of constructing a case which takes all the SKX parts and has the crown at 3 o`clock. You can also get a display caseback for the SKX models.
