That could certainly be useful for him, but not on a watch...

@GenTLe Would Bergeon 9010 work as a replacement lube? Or is that totally the wrong stuff? It's just that I have some handy whereas the other stuff I'll need to order....

You could, 9030 would be better. But it’s almost impossible to apply it properly through the tiny holes (as it only needs to go on the tips of the lobes inside the wheel).. You can’t submerge the reversing wheels in oil as it makes them, as @GenTLe said, super stiff.

Lubeta is in essence 9010 oil diluted in a solvent. When you submerge the wheels and let the solvent evaporate, the oil remains in proper quantity. I use a mix of 3 parts 9010 to 100 parts naphta. Some say to use epilame first, but I never do on wheels that are otherwise in good condition.

For the reversing wheels? I tried it, it made them super stiff...

Then I'll learn from your mistakes! Thanks mate.

Had the same issues a while back with a Tissot eta2836, took it to my watch smith and he did exactly what was mentioned in the first page of this post plus some good ol oil in there. Was back to normal within minutes. Hope you get it solved OP!

Mystery Shopper

This sounds much more complicated than the recent GMT issue that was resolved.

And this is why I'm lobbying Google Translate to include a northern dialect as a translating option!

Although your attempt above sounds more black country to me!
