mspangl 0 Posted May 14, 2011 Okay.. I once had a Submariner with a GMT-Bezel and even a Gmt hand on it After some time the stem broke and I took it to a watchsmith and said that he can't repair this.. Honestly even I can replace a stem So it was sitting in a drawer for about 6 years now.. I reworked the case : Sanded the insert, Shaved CGs and Lugs, shook it with some coins.. scratched the bezel. It's been awesome already.. Then I thought.. Hm let's use some drain cleaner and nail polish remover to get a bit of a fade THE FUCKIN PHONE RANG.. 12 minutes later I took it out of it's bath Seeing this: I wanted to get a nice Coke GMT Master not a KKK edition Nevermind, I ordered an aftermarket bezel from the bay. Now I gotta get a dial and a 21j movement preferably from a 21j cheapie... I've seen 21j's from trusty but no GMT Master So actually the case work and everything was absolutely useless because I could've bought a new watch and reshape that one
Member X 91 Posted May 14, 2011 LOL Oh dear... Re-shaping is good practice though so not all wasted effort and you could always sell it on!

graman 2 Posted May 14, 2011 You poor bastard! I know just how you feel mate! Hope you find your parts, but hey......I wish I had the fortitude to do what you've done with the case...it looks very cool, even if the bezel insert is "a bit pale"

Hope you find your parts, but hey......I wish I had the fortitude to do what you've done with the case...it looks very cool, even if the bezel insert is "a bit pale" Cheers mate .. Took some time but I think the case itself turned out quite nicely Btw I ordered an aftermarket coke pepsi for this case but I really don't know what to do. I might sell this case and rework the other case aswell
mspangl 0 Posted May 19, 2011 Oi.. So the new bezel arrived today and I think I aged it quite nicely.. Comparison: Old bezel to the new bezel I used a drain cleaner.. Mixed it with water and some nail polish remover Afterwards I sanded the insert and added some scratches .. Gonna post pics of the final look later on because the battery of my camera is currently reloading
