New movement as I could not figure out why it was crunching. Cyclops shipped this morning from TX so that should be here Wednesday.
dave47 6,471 Posted May 14, 2019 Good Evening, mates! A fine way to start the new week of wristies: a reintroduction of this old ROLEX GMT/MASTER II I found hiding in the back of an old watch box last week. I believe I established a personal record for wearing the same rep over consecutive days: four (4). Makes me realize that sometimes a second look can be quite revealing for things one missed originally. I'll be removing it tomorrow to make way for some new gens I purchased a while ago -- and they all arrived today!! Heaven!! (old pics). dave:

Bezel is looser than I would've thought it would be, not free spinning, but not too hard to move accidentally. My wife bought mine as a wedding gift on our honeymoon. Had it for over 5 years now and it is still running/winding as smooth as the day I got it. Still just as accurate as the day I bought it as well. Bracelet is smooth, clasp is super sturdy, but easy to open and close. The four corners of the clasp on the outside are a little sharper than I would expect a gen to be, but whatever. I always took this watch off when I was holding my baby daughter for that reason, didnt want to scratch her The only watch I've worn in the water, never any deeper than about 3-4 feet, even though it's rated to 10,000ft. I can't hold my breath for that long. In just a few words, it's sturdy as hell, lil' top heavy (but to be expected with a 45mm diver rated to 10,000 ft, that's to be expected), and still my favorite watch I own. Never tried it on rubber, probably a lot less movement on the wrist and a little lighter, but I like the bulk and weight it has. Let me know if you want to know anything else about it, be glad to help out. Thanks mate appreciate the write up

dave47 6,471 Posted May 15, 2019 Hi, Gang! First showing of a new addition to the collection: this NORSK "Olympic Medal" blue MONSTER watch I secured from The Bay and the NORSK Company. If you GOOGLE Norsk Olympic Watch, you'll see they were made for all eleven (11) of Norway's Olympic champions from the '12 Olympic Games in London. Uh, apparently they made many more since then; I liked its blue dial and Seiko Monster form, so I purchased it. It's a quartz watch, large 42.6mm w/o the crown and 13mm thick. The lume really shines when exposed to light BUT eventually fades. The rubber strap is a little stiff but comfortable. Looks great on the 'ole wrist. dave:
