Plastic wrap not come off fully

Recommended Posts

Evening all. Anyone got any tips on how to remove some remaining bits of plastic wrap that haven't fully come off my new Black Bay?

There are some unsightly scraps left over on the clasp that are too small to grab hold of to remove (I've even tried using tweezers!)

Please see pic for reference

Acetone may damage the watch...

The best is Pure Gasoline or Isopropyl Alcohol :)

Applied liberally? No risk of damaging the metal?

Toothpick. It will not damage anything and it is ok to limit the plastic bits.

Alcohol rub or even aftershave . Also WD40

I saw a post on here recommending soaking a new SS strap in WD40 for a couple of hours anyway, to get rid of the factory crud. Two birds with one stone, and all that.....

Just don't soak the watch head in baby oil or WD 40.

Thanks for all the inputs. I’ll remove the bracelet and give it a soak in WD40 and see if that works.

The bracelet is is a bit of a hair puller anyway so may change it to a leather strap anyway.

Cheers
