Question about Rolex Oyster Bracelet 78360

Recommended Posts

Hi, this 20mm bracelet is used on several Rolex watch models (eg Explorer, GMT II, Submariner, Daytona).

I am wondering whether this band has always had hollow links or whether at some point in its history Rolex moved to solid links for this bracelet?

Your Google broken or something?

Always had?? - You've got it the wrong way round (which a simple search in Google will demonstrate)

They are solid NOW but were hollow back before they became solid.......

What I meant is the space in between the center links.    My older Rolex watch bands have a hollow center and my new Rolex watch bands have a solid center.  See photos.

Would like to know when (about what year) the 78360 made a transition from hollow to center?

This is a good question. I'd like to also know the same.

And OP....

in the link @hanski posted, this answers your question. 5-digit bracelets are solid. Four digit bracelets are riveted or folded. 5 digit submariners have solid link bracelets. Four digit models do not.
a gen 78360 bracelet will have solid links, just like the 93150 bracelet.
7836 and 9315 bracelets are hollow.

He’s asking about the center of the  links. I’m not sure exactly when that change came. Some time after 2004 I think. The first SEL bracelets still had hollow link centers.

I’d say later SEL bracelets on cases without lug holes for sure.
