JohnG 41 Posted May 26, 2009 Yes! £11 SHIPPED from China to MY DOORSTEP!!! What could it be at that price? What POS would only be sold at £1 plus £10 shipping???!!!! Well it is the same one that lololo at RG is swapping dials on and selling for a couple of hundred bucks!!!! Behold my quick and dirty shots: And the "Pyrolume" - same watch, with cnc machined dial, good lume (gen has NONE :P) and a cheapy "carbon" strap - think I have found where he gets those too. Toying with the idea of getting a small three axis cnc machine (or making one) and repping the Pyrolume... the one below is bidding at $137 right now, with about 48 hours to go... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=280349415500
sconehead 5 Posted May 27, 2009 Hmmm, a cheeky little number for the price... :P but not as cheeky as the prices being asked by the sellers you've mentioned...toy with them John, not in your usual 'stealthy as a zeppelin' manner...be as subtle as a snow flake on an Eskimo... edit: I'll have to lay off Doc's Jap maple leaf smokes... trailboss99 994 Posted May 27, 2009 John, to make a three axis mill you would need a . . . guess what? A three axis mill! :P Good idea tho, nice little earner. 300 bucks for that? Sheeeeesh. Col.

Improve on it Will do! I can't really get sidetracked right now, but definitely in the future, when the house is further along, I will get/make a little cnc machine and start making my own dials and selling on eBay. I can think of some cool variations on the Pyrolume thing... You could make all kinds of cool sandwich dials with one of those machines. Anything that you can think of and draw on a screen, you could mill...

trailboss99 994 Posted May 28, 2009 Go for it John! On the mill, ya, the accuracy would be about .5 to .25 of a mm. Not realy enough. A small Chinese non CNC mill is less than a grand these days and can be converted for 500 or so. A much better propisition IMHO. Col.
JohnG 41 Posted May 28, 2009 Thanks Col.... Hey, you guys know this watch? He is selling it now on eBay, I like it and want to know if anyone recognizes where he might be sourcing this one...
sconehead 5 Posted May 28, 2009 I'll have a snoop around tomorrow John, I seem to recall I saved a link to a Chinese custom watch builder who basically make most of the cases over there...maybe it was one of Onzes 'useful links' I can't remember at the moment, leave it with me...
