Is this the best Daytona rep?

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Thought you  might like to see the below rep vs gen. It’s quite a compliment from watch finder.

Do any of you guys know what maker this is?

And number 4th :D

Yes this video has been posted quite few times now :D

It's a Noob with the superclone movement. The best in term of functions and movement but the ARF one is better visually.

Interesting. I was looking at the ARF one just now.

what makes you say the ARF is better visually?

its a shame the case is still a bit thick compared to the gen

The noob one looks awesome. Right thickness as well.

ARF too is right thickness. Just look how blurry is that red "Daytona" on the dial of the Noob. Also the bezel and subdials are better on ARF...

ARF has better dial and bezel quality. almost flawless in all areas except for the movement. It may be a worthwhile venture to mod a noob daytona with ARF dial and bezel. :)

Dial is better, case is like 0.1mm different if your lucky nothing in it.

Basically unless you’re going Franken balls out, then ARF would do nicely.

I have an ARF, and a bought a noob from a member here. I resold the noob less than 2 days later. The ARF looks better, and on the wrist, the thickness is exactly the same. Unless you are going to Franken it out (which is a very expensive proposition) buy the ARF. You will run that chrono once when you get it and never again (the ARF chrono works, just doesn’t record minutes and hours). My 2 cents.

Agreed.

Debating on spending the money to get an ARF dial in mine. Maybe a bezel too. Gens are way to costly.

I think there is some significant modding needed. But that’s an option. I would just buy the ARF. The chrono works enough to show people, it looks much better, and it’s ready to wear out the nice plastic box they send it in.

Next to each other does it seem the white tone is different?

Beats the hell outta me.

I asked myself: when will I ever compare this one to a gen?

Side by side my ARF and NOOB were indistinguishable. Upon closer look you began to see the differences in quality. Clasp is much better on ARF as well.

Noob is the best Daytona absolutely.

I can spot a Noob in photos due to the wrong font on the bezel. There is a very noticeable serif on the R of words PER and HOUR on the bezel which are notorious Noob flaws.

Thickness of the ARF case is the same as gen.

Until Noob fixes the QC issues with the movement gears stripping and the bezel font and the color and incorrect shiny texture of the subdials, I am sticking with my ARF.

Very important - only yesterday a total stranger stopped me in Asda and used his micrometer on my Tudor Bronzo.

Unless there is an intent to financially gain from a rep 0.0000007mm difference is an irrelevance.

Because if some one can call you out on bezel font, and shiny subdials (that certainly weren’t shiny in my side by side rep vs gen review)....

they will never spot the wrong pinions on the the faux subdials or your fear to run a chrono

both noob and ARF are flawed trade off which you can live with.
