Roger. W. Smith: Britain's Premier Watchmaker.

This guy just makes me want to ditch everything and go do a watchmaking course. Most of you will know how much of a legend he is but for those who don't he helped George Daniels develop the Co-Axial Escapement and is now in business for himself producing around 10 watches per year with a team of only 5 people.

EVERYTHING is done by hand..... EVERYTHING

The dials take 2 weeks to make.

I think he was in QP a couple of months ago when they did a feature of small manufacturers.

The smallest manufacturer horologists with one or two master watchmakers and do everything in outstanding detail produce watches costing more than £100k each.

An outstanding master watch maker. Co-axial movement is my 'hero' movement as it approaches the 'holy grail', a genuine advance in movement design that almost eliminates the need for periodic lubrication. I'm so sad that I want an Omega just for the movement.....

That watch is a work of art.

Seriously Ska, if you have the talent, vision and love for this.... Well if I had your talent watchmaking would be for me, although i know you will have other reasons to keep a stable income.....

" R W SMITH" and box around it in second picture, doesn't look quite right to me. Not that I would let that stop me.

The beauty of a hand made object is that no two are exactly the same.

That guy is a master craftsman.

Wow.
